Emperor Divers Opens in Hamata!

Hamata is the most southerly diving resort in the Egyptian Red Sea. The remoteness of this area makes it the ultimate in ‘get away from it all’ diving. Emperor Divers has opened a new dive centre based at the Zabargad Berenice Resort in Hamata. The new dive centre is on the doorstep of Fury Shoals and Qulan Islands, which can be dived daily.

Green Turtles Nesting at Oasis Dive Resort!

The team at the Oasis Dive Resort in Marsa Alam are thrilled to have green turtles nesting on the beach!

One morning at sunrise at the end of January, a guest observed a green turtle depositing her eggs on the beach just in front of the resort.  From the tracks leading to and from the water, the team think that it was one female.

Divers are being asked to help measure plankton!  Scientists are enlisting sailors, divers, anglers and fishermen to help with what they hope will be the world's biggest study of plankton in the oceans.  Researchers at Plymouth University's Marine Institute want seafarers to help measure the quantity of plankton.  The results will help them to understand how life in the oceans is changing.

Diving with Whale Sharks

Diving with whale sharks ranks near the top of any diver’s bucket list. In July 2013 at dive site Ras Umm Sid, guides at Camel Dive Club in Sharm el Sheikh encountered Ariel, a 4 metre giant manta ray (manta birostris).

Noble Nudibranch

Nudibranch means ‘naked gills’ and these slippery little jewels live their fairly short lives with their gills on the outside of their body. Yet they aren’t afraid of the presence of a human and pose perfectly for the underwater photographer.
