Tobago is now within easy reach for guests who are based in northern parts of the UK and who prefer to fly directly from Manchester. From November 2016, there will be a direct flight from Manchester to Tobago.

There’s never been a better time to visit Tobago. With its spectacular drift diving, outstanding coral formations and nutrient-rich waters that explode with marine life, Tobago is one of Regaldive’s most popular destinations. Add to this the contrasting choice of Atlantic or Caribbean diving, renowned Caribbean hospitality and a range of great value resorts and flight options, and Tobago really does tick the perfect holiday box for every diver.

From November 2016, for the first time, there will be a direct flight from Manchester to Tobago, with a touch down on the inbound flight. This now puts Tobago within easy reach for guests who are based in northern parts of the UK and who prefer the convenience of flying directly from Manchester.

Tobago is an island with two distinct dive styles, so it makes a perfect choice for a twin centre holiday. Visitors diving the Caribbean coast will find lovely fringing reefs and a lack of current that is well-suited to less experienced divers. In contrast, the Atlantic coastline is famed for its pounding currents and plankton-rich water which attracts large pelagics and some of the best conditions for drift diving to be found anywhere.

Regaldive guest can choose to base themselves at either Crown Point or Speyside. The location of Crown Point provides access to both the Caribbean and Atlantic coastlines, although most of the dives here seem to be of a relaxed variety. The dive centres we feature up in Speyside are also quite relaxed, although the diving is considered slightly more advanced than down at the Crown Point end of the island. Known for its drift dives in the Atlantic waters around the island of Little Tobago, there is plenty to see, including an incredible brain coral, said to be the largest in the world.

There are some wonderful topside activities on offer.  To name but a few, the hustle and bustle of the island’s capital, Scarborough is definitely worth a visit.  Further along the coastline is a great place to stop and admire the lovely views across Englishman’s Bay. It’s unusual to see somewhere so beautiful that’s not had modern development imposed upon it.  The centre of the island is mountainous and covered in rainforest and it is home to many picturesque waterfalls – these are a must see for any stay on Tobago.

Tobago has not developed as rapidly as some other Caribbean islands and divers looking for a laidback and unspoilt destination will be find much to enthral. The island offers plenty of opportunity to enjoy spectacular natural wonders above water, as well as below, with lush rainforests, picturesque waterfalls and incredible birdlife.

Although an all year destination, the main time to visit Tobago is from November to April.  Flights from Gatwick to Tobago are available all year round and from this November, the direct flights from Manchester to Tobago will also be available, with a touch down on the inbound flight.

This new flight option puts Tobago within the convenient reach of guests who are based in northern regions and who like to fly out from Manchester. Our other destinations with direct Manchester flights include Mexico and Bonaire.

With these new flight options and resort developments, there’s no doubt that tourism to Tobago is on the up… just be sure to book a holiday there soon to catch the magic!
