Liveaboard Information

Dive Information

Regaldive offer a range of Red Sea liveaboards, with itineraries giving you a wide variety of diving options, depending on your area of interest and your level of experience. If you are travelling as a large group, you can even decide to pre-book a week of wrecks or favourite reef dives, according to your group preferences.

Northern Red Sea Liveaboards

Regaldive offer itineraries departing from Hurghada. The reef at Abu Nuhas is accessible from Hurghada with several wrecks resting at its base. You can also visit the Straits of Gubal and the famous Thistlegorm World War II wreck. Some boat itineraries may also take in the Ras Mohammed national park where steep coastal cliffs are mirrored underwater with impressive vertical walls, which drop off 70m or more.

The Strait of Tiran has a range of reefs rising out of deep waters where the strong currents and dense plankton attract an impressive range of reef and deep-sea species providing some exceptional drift dives. The Thistlegorm also features on this trip.

For those that want the liveaboard experience from a resort, our Sharm Dive Extravaganza allows you to join a small group of like-minded divers whilst exploring the best diving Sharm El Sheikh has to offer.

Southern Red Sea Liveaboards

There are many world-class dive sites in the southern Red Sea, and Regaldive offer several itineraries. Fury Shoal is an area where many reefs lie close to each other, some are exposed and some sheltered, many with dramatic sheer walls plunging to over 40m. There are canyons, multiple caves and passages where groupers and morays lurk. The variety of coral is stunning with beautiful brain and fire corals. Schools of fusiliers and anchovies hover above the reefs until suddenly attacked by fast moving tuna whilst Napoleon wrasse cruise majestically by.

The Brothers are two small isolated reefs 33 miles north east of El Quseir. Big Brother Island has a lighthouse and a fringing reef with a sheer plunge to exceptional depths. The diving is challenging with deep wrecks and strong currents. Tuna, barracuda, scalloped hammerhead, oceanic white tips, silkies and reef shark can all be spotted here.

Little Brother is reputed to be one of the most scenic dives in the Red Sea. The drop off is over 40m but the walls are covered in sponges, anemones, soft corals and black coral. Some of the huge gorgonian fan corals are more than 3m high. There are caves, holes and overhangs in the shallow part of the reef. Currents can be very strong and because there is little shelter and strong winds, access is very much weather dependent.

Elphinstone is a site best dived early in the day and there is little protection against wind and waves, making a liveaboard visit ideal. There are plateaux at either end, from 25-40m, but the steep walls drop off to more than 100m. It is an ideal site to experience the larger pelagic marine life including manta, hammerheads and oceanic whitetips. The soft corals and gorgonians are luxuriant and colourful.

Visas

Entry requirements vary from country to country, and it’s important to check the latest visa information well before you travel. Some destinations may allow visa-free entry for a limited period, while others require an eVisa or a visa obtained in advance. To ensure you have the correct documentation for your trip, we recommend checking the official advice from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) or contacting the relevant country’s embassy or consulate. Other nationalities should check with their own consulate/embassy.

Passports

Before you travel, make sure your passport is valid for the full duration of your trip and meets the entry requirements of your destination. Many countries require at least six months’ validity beyond your planned return date, while others may have different rules. For the most reliable and up-to-date information, visit the UK Government’s passport guidance or the official travel advice pages for your destination. Other nationalities should check with their own consulate/embassy.

Client Reviews for M/Y Blue Melody

Excellent holiday

The holiday was excellent, all I had to do was pack! It was great knowing everything was organised for me. There were lots of amazing things to see diving, I saw Spanish dancers and swam with a dolphin for 40 minutes - awesome. Really good having USB ports in cabins.

Blue Melody was ideal

Blue Melody was ideal for the trip undertaken. The crew and dive guides were great. The whole trip ran smoothly and gave great diving opportunities, with amazing wrecks and fish.

We enjoyed the surprise

We enjoyed the surprise mantas, learning about sharks and diving. Overall one of the best diving trips I have been on, a great way to come back post pandemic, I can't wait for the next one.

First class

The boat Blue Melody was first class. The crew were exceptional in taking care of us, being friendly and helpful. It was a safety conscious, laidback, comfortable, enjoyable trip.

First time diving in the Red Sea

My first time diving in the Red Sea and my first time on a liveaboard. The staff were fantastic, very helpful and Ahmed gave great briefings, informative and to the point. You could choose whether to have a guide or not, so these briefings were good for those of us not using a guide. Lots of shark activity (hammerheads, threshers, oceanic whites, grey reefs) which really were daily highlights. Our initial cabin (a double on the middle deck) was very small and the bed far too short for anyone over 6 foot. We mentioned this to Ahmed and as the boat was not full we were instantly accommodated in a lower deck twin cabin which was much better and more comfortable. The food was pretty good, but the last night feast was amazing. An overall great trip!

We had a Fantastic Time - The Diving was Amazing!

Just a short note to let you know that we had a fantastic time during our back-to-back liveaboard on the Blue Melody. The diving was amazing (even a too friendly grey oceanic shark, swimming with us), turtles, dolphins, hammerheads, an octopus 'Show' lasting over 10 minutes, 2 dancing and hunting moray eels during a night dive, beautiful corals and more. We cannot fault the guides and organisation aboard the Blue Melody, we were very comfortable and assistance was always at hand if needed. The guides (especially Chris) were excellent: knowledgeable and really going the extra mile to ensure all divers on board could appreciate the diving to its maximum. Only one (minor) comment: it would be nice to have some lights on the upper deck common place so that one can read a book outside when its dark. All in all, a great and relaxing experience with beautiful diving. Exactly what we needed!

MY Blue Melody- we had a wonderful time

We had a wonderful time on board My Blue Melody last week. The crew was lovely, the food absolutely excellent and the boat has a series of small procedures that really make any diver's life easier. To name a few: getting ready for the zodiac in separate groups (i.e. avoiding overcrowding), tags to identify tanks, tick back list by the guides when coming back on board, the towel pegs on deck with Room numbers (avoiding towels 'musical chairs'), Tea/Coffee delivered with the early morning wake-up call, Pre-Order for breakfast omelettes/eggs. Small things, by all means, but they do make the journey more enjoyable. I have only words of praise for the crew: friendly, professional, efficient. Barry had an amazingly artistic cake for his birthday. Briefings were comprehensive without being patronizing: Luke and Becky were simply excellent. As soon as we boarded My Blue Melody, we all felt immediately welcome and at home. Definitely a positive experience! Thank you!
