King Snefro - Mini Safari: Ras Mohamed - Thistlegorm - Tiran

A four-day safari is a very popular option especially if you do not want to stay a full week. Try this liveaboard cruise and you can perfectly combine your stay in Sinai with land-based non diving activities. Visit top spots in the Red Sea like Ras Mohammed National Park, the wrecks of Thistlegorm and Dunraven and Tiran’s famous reefs.

Day 1:

Evening: transfer to Travco Harbour and embark. Welcome on board, cabin arrangement and boat–briefing. Permission work with port authority, sailing very early next morning.

Day 2:

Morning: check dive at Temple. Next dive is Jackfish Alley where you can easily enter the small caves there. The third dive will be at the Alternatives, seven pinnacles with numerous sand patches and resident leopard sharks. If you like night diving then Alternatives will be a great location to jump in.

Day 3:

Early morning: boat sails to the wreck of the Thistlegorm and spends a minimum of two dives there. The first will be an outside orientation and the second will give you the chance to look inside. The third dive of the day will be at Small Passage. A night dive inside the lagoon is possible here.

Day 4:

Morning: first dive of the day is the historical wreck of the Dunraven, which sank in 1876. Next dive site is inside Ras Mohammed National Park at the famous Shark & Yolanda Reef. Then travel north to the Gulf of Aqaba and the Strait of Tiran to do a third dive at Gordon Reef. Normally the boat will spend the night at the South Lagoon where a night dive is possible.

Day 5:

Morning: first dive of the day will be Jackson Reef, the most Northern dive site in the Strait of Tiran. After breakfast we visit either Thomas or Woodhouse Reef. Third dive of the day will be decided onboard on the way back to Sharm at either Ras Nasrani, Ras Ghamila or Ras Um Sid. Return to the harbour and disembark.

You need to be at least a PADI Open Water certified diver or equivalent and have 15 logged dives.  PADI Advanced Open Water diver or equivalent is needed for wreck penetration dives and some of the more experienced dive sites visited on this safari. You must have dived in the last year and recorded this in your log book to join this safari; Scuba Reviews are not available onboard. PADI Open Water Divers are able to join the night dives if they have previous night dives logged. This trip is suitable for snorkellers to join.
