SEA SERPENT - MARINE PARK TOUR

marsa alam - BROTHERS - daedalus - elphinstone - marsa alam

This week long itinerary mainly begins and ends in Port Ghalib visiting the very best of the southern diving locations.
However, there are times during the year when the trip operates out of Hurghada with a slight variation on first and last diving days (Hurghada and Safaga instead of Marsa Alam).

Day one includes 2 check-out dives in the Marsa Alam area. After a possible night dive, the boat sails south overnight towards the Brothers.

Once in the marine park, enjoy 3 dives at Big Brother, followed by a further 3 at Little Brother the next day. Part of the marine park, the Brother’s offer breathtaking underwater scenery with coral covered walls as well as the chance to observe schools of tuna, jack and snappers accompanied by grey reef, silvertip and ocean white-tip sharks and possible manta ray encounters. In addition, threshers, whale sharks and mola mola have been seen at this special area over the years. Diving here may include the wreck sites of the Aida ll and Numidia. The boat continues to Daedalus after two days at the Brothers.

Day 5 is spent at Daedalus Reef. Also part of the marine park, this is the most off-shore of all the dive reefs in the Egyptian Red Sea. It is a big oval reef with a lighthouse and its perimeter of walls offers some of the most stunning diving in the Red Sea. Typical of Daedalus are its huge and pristine hard coral formations and the possibility to spot schooling hammerheads. Thresher sharks, mantas and whale sharks can also be spotted while diving here. Continue to Elphinstone this evening.

The penultimate day of diving is spent at Elphinstone Reef, a truly legendary Red Sea diving reef where you can expect the unexpected, with its north and south plateaus and its walls covered in soft corals. Hammerheads and grey reef sharks can also be spotted here on a regular basis. Enjoy 2-3 dives here at one of the world's top diving spots.

The week culminates with two further dives in the Marsa Alam area on the final day before heading back to port.

Experience level:
You must be a PADI Open Water diver or equivalent and have logged a minimum of 30 dives to join this safari.
As with all diving activities, the dive guide has the final decision regarding any divers competency to complete any particular dive.

Please note that night diving is prohibited in the marine parks.
