Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu is a soulful hideaway in the Baa Atoll, where rustic luxury meets preserved nature. Situated within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the island invites guests into a world of turquoise lagoons, coconut palms, and barefoot tranquillity.
The resort is also home to The Olive Ridley Marine Turtle Rescue Centre, the Maldives' first veterinary‑led facility dedicated to sea turtle rehabilitation. The onsite dive centre visits over 30 dive sites and snorkelling excursions to the manta ray haven of Hanifaru Bay.
Accommodation
There are various accommodation options at Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu Resort. Each villa features a king-sized bed with canopy, air-conditioning, open air en suite bathroom, sun deck with lounger, WiFi, mini bar and hot drinks station.
The Beach Villas are nestled among the island’s natural vegetations, along with the Deluxe Villas and Deluxe Pool Villas, which offer a little more space. The Lagoon Villas and Sunset Lagoon Villas are over the water, with instant access to the tranquil lagoon waters.
Facilities
Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu Resort has a number of facilities, helping to create magical memories during each stay. The resort offers two main restaurants; the Cowrie, which serves global buffet dishes in an airy, elegant setting, and Cornus, which features Asian flavours for dinner. Guests can also enjoy drinks at the Beach Bar and Conch Bar.
The resort has the environment at its heart, through initiatives like Coco Farm, which grows organic, home-grown produce used in a weekly sustainable buffet menu. Guests can tour the farm, inspect fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs, and enjoy alfresco dining crafted by chefs using these ingredients.
Coco Spa offers a serene, holistic retreat by the sea, with calming treatment rooms and a menu of therapies inspired by Asian traditions. There's also a fitness centre, water sports centre with motorised and non-motorised activities, tennis and volleyball court, boutique shop and clinic.
The Olive Ridley Marine Turtle Rescue Centre (MTRC), which opened in February 2017 at Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu, is the Maldives’ first fully equipped, veterinary‑led facility dedicated to sea turtle rehabilitation. It remains a unique centre in the country, specialising in the treatment of injured Olive Ridley turtles. Guests at Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu are invited to visit the centre, with turtle feeding viewings offered each afternoon.
House Reef
The house reef offers wonderful snorkelling, and can also be explored on a guided dive at any time of day. This reef is visited by eagle rays, reef sharks, dolphins, turtles, and the occasional mantas. The resort can also arrange snorkelling excursions to Hanifaru Bay, within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, where manta rays can be seen in their hundreds from July to October.
Location
Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu Resort is situated on the south-western edge of Baa Atoll, which is part of the Northern Atolls. The resort is reached by seaplane.

The centre operates daily two‑tank morning dives as well as a relaxed single‑tank afternoon dive, with night dives available on request. Group sizes are kept delightfully small at just four guests per guide, ensuring a personalised experience. On board, you’ll find water, tea, coffee and fresh fruit served during the journey. Around 30 dive sites lie within 15–60 minutes of the resort in the southwest corner of Baa Atoll, while full‑day adventures further afield can be arranged when minimum numbers are met. Manta rays can be encountered throughout the year, with the highest activity during the summer months. A local supplement applies for guided and boat diving.
As a fully certified PADI centre, Coco Dive provides a complete range of courses in its air‑conditioned classroom, with rental equipment available. In line with Maldivian regulations, all divers must use a dive computer and gloves aren't permitted. For those eager to take their first breaths below the surface, the centre also offers a complimentary introductory lagoon dive - an ideal way to begin your underwater journey in the Maldives.

Planning your Holiday
Visas
Entry requirements vary from country to country, and it’s important to check the latest visa information well before you travel. Some destinations may allow visa-free entry for a limited period, while others require an eVisa or a visa obtained in advance. To ensure you have the correct documentation for your trip, we recommend checking the official advice from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) or contacting the relevant country’s embassy or consulate. Other nationalities should check with their own consulate/embassy.
Passports
Before you travel, make sure your passport is valid for the full duration of your trip and meets the entry requirements of your destination. Many countries require at least six months’ validity beyond your planned return date, while others may have different rules. For the most reliable and up-to-date information, visit the UK Government’s passport guidance or the official travel advice pages for your destination. Other nationalities should check with their own consulate/embassy.
If you’re planning to travel to or via an EU country (with certain exceptions) your UK passport must meet two key requirements, it must be less than 10 years old on the day you enter the country and it must be valid for at least three months after your planned departure date.
Vaccinations & Health Advice
Health and vaccination requirements differ depending on where you're travelling. Some destinations may require proof of specific vaccinations or recommend certain precautions to protect your wellbeing.
We’re not qualified to provide you with specific advice on vaccinations and strongly recommend that you contact your healthcare professional before you travel to discuss the inoculations you may need to consider.
For trusted guidance on health and vaccination advice, refer to the NHS Travel Vaccination Advice, Masta Travel Health or Travel Health Pro websites.
