Resort-based diving opportunities exist throughout the Canary Islands, from Lanzarote in the west to El Hierro in the east. With easy access, a good range of dive sites and excellent dive centres, Lanzarote offers excellent opportunities for all levels of diver.

The impressive topography of this volcanic island continues underwater with lava flows and tunnels to explore, along with opportunities for those looking to gain more experience of wreck diving.

What to see when

The most famous resident of the Canary Islands is the elusive angel shark, a critically endangered species. While sightings are quite regular in Lanzarote, divers should note that the best time to see these beautiful animals is in the cooler winter months from November to March.

Most divers head to these islands during the warmer summer months, which bring the chance to see seahorse, octopus, cuttlefish, grouper, stingray, barracuda and spider crab.
