Malapascua

Malapascua is a small island off the coast of Cebu that is famous for its thresher shark diving. An endangered species, Thresher Sharks they can be seen regularly at Monad Shoal, a dive site just off Malapascua.

In addition to thresher sharks, Malapascua also offers excellent diving for other pelagic species, such as manta rays and dolphins. The island is also home to a variety of macro life, including nudibranchs, frogfish, and ghost pipefish.

Moalboal

Moalboal is another popular diving destination in the Visayas. The main attraction in Moalboal is the sardine run, which is a phenomenon where millions of sardines gather in a small area. Divers can swim among the sardines, which is an incredible experience. This spectacle also attracts larger predators that come to feed on the bait ball.

In addition to the sardine run, Moalboal is blessed with several beautiful dive sites, such as Pescador Island and Cathedral Reef.

Dumaguete

Dumaguete is a city on the island of Negros Oriental that is known for its diving and its laid-back atmosphere. The main diving area in Dumaguete is Dauin, which is home to a number of excellent dive sites where all manner of weird and wonderful marine life can be found.

While in Dumaguete, a trip to the marine sanctuary at Apo Island also comes highly recommended. The island lays claim to some stunning coral reefs harbouring abundant marine life, including a large population of green turtles.

Anda, Bohol

Anda, on the eastern side of Bohol, is something of a hidden gem for divers. The area is less crowded than other parts of Bohol, making it a perfect place to escape the crowds and enjoy the amazing biodiversity of the local reef life.

Divers in Anda can expect to see a wide variety of marine life, including frogfish, ghost pipefish, sea snakes, black corals, turtles, barracuda, and eagle rays.

The island of Bohol is also home to the famous chocolate hills and a population of tarsiers, insect-eating primates that are regarded as the oldest mammals living today.
