Thailand’s Andaman coastline is one of sandy beaches, beautiful limestone islands, tropical blue seas and colourful marine life. An ideal combination to set the scene for learning to dive. Professional diving centres and tuition add to the attraction for those looking to complete their Open Water diving course.
Spend a week or more in Phuket, soaking up the atmosphere and learning how to dive. The itienrary can be extended to spend more time in Thailand, or adapted to learn to dive in Khao Lak, Phi Phi, or Koh Lanta.

About your Open Water course
This is your passport to the amazing underwater world! Once completed, your internationally recognised certification allows you to dive with any qualified diver to a maximum of 18 metres. The course duration is three or four days as we understand that each individual learns at a different pace and that some skills and techniques may take a little more practice to reach a comfortable and confident level. The course consists of five theory and five pool sessions plus four open water dives. This course will teach you a range of skills, which will enable you to dive in a safe and enjoyable environment as a buddy pair. Equipment is usually included for the course duration.
Please note that all those taking the SSI Open Water course or the PADI e-learning course will need to purchase a e-learning study materials.

Day 1
Depart for Thailand
Depart for Phuket in Thailand, typically via Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.

Day 2
Welcome to Thailand!
Arrive today, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
The Palm Gardens Resort Phuket is a simple, yet charming accommodation featuring Thai style bungalows surrounding a pool. It is run and managed by our partner dive centre. Located in the south of Phuket, a short walk from the dive centre, it is a convenient and affordable base for your diving adventure.Your seven night stay is on a bed and breakfast basis.
The rest of the today is yours at leisure.

Day 3
Begin your SSI Open Water course
Your Open Water course begins today. This is a three day course, consisting of time in the training pool, study time and four Open Water scuba dives. We recommend the e-learning course, following well-structured online training modules ahead of your visit. This allows you to concentrate on the practical side of diving during your holiday.
If you prefer, you can choose to relax today and begin your Open Water course the following day. Just speak to the friendly Regaldive team if this is your preference.

Days 4-5
Continue your Open Water course
Your diving course continues, all under the guidance of a professionally trained scuba diving instructor.
Open water dives will be conducted from a comfortable diving boat, with breakfast, lunch, fruit, coffee, tea & drinking water all provided free of charge. You’ll learn all about your diving equipment, along with key skills such as mask clearing and buoyancy control. You’ll also have the chance to enjoy the local marine life.
At the end of your course, you’ll be certified as an Open Water dive with your fellow students, and it is time to celebrate your achievement!

Days 5-8
Dive, or relax. The choice is yours.
There’s a lot to take in on an Open Water course, so after your course is finished, you may wish to simply relax and enjoy the many topside delights of Thailand, from stunning beaches to sumptuous food.
That said, we imagine you’ll be eager to jump back in and continue exploring the amazing underwater world you’ve just discovered. If so, the dive centre will be more than happy to arrange additional fun dives for you over the coming days, at an extra cost. Just have a chat with the friendly team on site if you’re keen to dive again.

Day 9
Depart Thailand, or extend your holiday
After a relaxing morning, you’ll be collected from your hotel this afternoon and transferred to the airport for your flight home.
If you’d prefer to enjoy a longer holiday to explore a little more of this beautiful country, we can tailor an itinerary to suit your precise requirements.

Day 10
Arrive home
In order to participate in an Open Water course, you need to complete a medical questionnaire to ensure you are fit to dive. If the answer to any of the questions is 'yes' you will need to obtain a letter from a doctor confirming that you are fit to dive. We recommend that you review this medical assessment in advance of booking your holiday.
