Day-to-day itinerary

• Day 1

  Depart the UK for Thailand

  The overnight flight sets the adventure in motion, arriving into Phuket the following day. If you prefer to arrange your own flights from the UK or elsewhere, please simply let us know.

• Day 2

  Arrive in Phuket & Transfer to the Hotel

  A private transfer meets the group on arrival for the short journey to the Proud Phuket Hotel or similar, where the next two nights are spent. The rest of the day is free to settle in, relax by the pool and meet fellow travellers.

• Day 3

  Thai Cooking Class & Culinary Tour

  An early street food tour through Phuket takes in local stalls and a traditional dim sum breakfast, followed by a visit to Old Phuket Farm to learn how rice is grown and harvested. A hands-on cooking class rounds off the day, with guests sitting down to the dishes they've prepared themselves. The rest of the day is yours at leisure to relax by the pool, enjoy the beach or explore more of Phuket.

• Day 4

  Phuket Elephant Sanctuary, then Board the Liveaboard

  After breakfast, this morning is spent at an ethical elephant sanctuary, observing rehabilitated Asian elephants foraging, bathing and playing in their own environment. You’ll learn each elephant’s story, and join them on a leisurely walk, including a visit to nearby lagoon. Later today, you transfer to the Marco Polo liveaboard, home for the next four nights.

• Days 5-7

  Liveaboard Diving Around the Similan & Surin Islands

  The Marco Polo cruises overnight to the Similan National Park, waking guests to granite boulders and beautiful white sand beaches. The next few days are spent diving and exploring the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richeleu Rock. Up to 15 dives are included across the four days.

• Day 8

  Return to Shore & Travel on to Khao Sok

  After disembarking this afternoon, a stop at Bang Niang market in Khao Lak breaks up the road transfer to Khao Sok National Park, where the next three nights are spent at the Cliffs & River Jungle Resort or similar. You have plenty of time to enjoy this scenic region.

• Day 9

  Canoeing & a Night Safari in Khao Sok

  A gentle canoe trip drifts along the river beneath towering limestone cliffs and dense rainforest, with a stop at a small cave for coffee brewed over an open fire. After some free time, a guided night safari heads into the national park to look for nocturnal wildlife.

• Day 10

  Full-day Cheow Lan Lake Tour

  After an early breakfast this morning, you’re transferred to Cheow Lan Lake. A longtail boat crosses the lake to the Coral Cave, reached after a short hike, before continuing by bamboo raft into the cave itself. Lunch is taken at a floating restaurant, followed by a visit to the limestone karsts of Guilin Noi.

• Day 11

  Transfer back to Phuket for the Flight Home

  Today your tour of southern Thailand comes to a close. Guests wishing to extend their stay in Thailand can discuss options with the team beforehand.
