Diving Itinerary
Discover the untouched majesty of Cocos Island on a liveaboard adventure. This remote Costa Rican paradise, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for colossal schools of hammerhead sharks in season, along with an abundance of other pelagic life.
Cocos Island is located off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Liveaboard itineraries begin in Costa Rica’s capital, San José with a two-hour air-conditioned bus ride to Puntarenas, which showcases some of Costa Rica's most beautiful views.
After settling in to your new surrounds, your liveaboard cruises approximately 36 hours to Cocos Island. Itineraries are typically ten nights in duration, including seven days of diving in Cocos with three dives offered daily. Cruises finish back in Puntarenas, with a return transfer to San José included.

TOP DIVE SITES - COCOS ISLAND
Alcyone
This majestic seamount rises from the depths, with its peak reaching a tantalising 23 metres from the surface. Schools of hammerhead sharks, majestic manta rays, and dazzling schools of fish create a mesmerising underwater ballet. Keen divers may even encounter elusive sailfish or marlin adding to the spectacle.
Big Dos Amigos
This unique islet features a captivating 14-metre high archway and an 18-metre pinnacle jutting out from its southeastern side. As you navigate this underwater maze, keep your eyes peeled for vibrant rainbow runners, yellowtail snapper, bigeye jacks, and even lobsters clinging to the rocky crevices. But the real highlight lies in spotting graceful hammerhead sharks gliding effortlessly between the arch and pinnacle.
Manuelita Out
This underwater hotspot is a gathering place for majestic eagle rays, formidable Galapagos sharks, and even the enigmatic manta ray and whale shark. The site is also famous for its spectacular displays of schooling jacks, particularly during afternoon courtship rituals. With multiple cleaning stations, Manuelita Out attracts a constant influx of sharks, creating a dynamic and unforgettable underwater spectacle. The sandy bottom ensures exceptional visibility, allowing divers to fully appreciate the breathtaking marine life on offer.
Bird Island, Chatham Bay
Dove from Chatham Bay, this site southeast of Manuelita Island offers a remarkable diversity of marine life. Here, you can encounter the curious frogfish, camouflaged amongst the coral, alongside lobsters, moray eels, and graceful rays. Whitetip reef sharks and awe-inspiring hammerheads add to the excitement, while a cleaning station provides further opportunities to witness fascinating underwater interactions
Dirty Rock
This aptly named site lives up to its reputation as a haven for marine giants. Schools of mesmerising marble rays and powerful hammerheads steal the show, creating an unforgettable spectacle. With its abundance of marine life, Dirty Rock is an favourite dive for any Cocos Island exploration.
