Typical Itinerary
Day 1: Depart the UK
Depart the UK for the beautiful Red Sea. Your flight time is around four and a half hours, with a number of regional departure options available.
On arrival at Sharm el Sheikh, you’re greeted by warm sunshine and a friendly smile, before being transferred to your hotel.
Established in 1986, Camel Dive Hotel is an award-winning diver’s hotel ideally located within walking distance of the Naama Bay area, with everything you need for your learn to dive holiday. The rest of the evening is yours to settle in to your new surroundings.
Day 2: Begin your Open Water diving course
After breakfast this morning, you meet the dive centre team, your Instructor for your Open Water course, and your fellow students. Your course begins by reviewing the knowledge learnt in advance with your digital study pack, before moving on to the practical elements of the course.
In this first session, you cover the foundations of scuba diving, including equipment and techniques, during six confined water dives in the hotel's swimming pool. You’re shown all the skills and have plenty of time to discuss them and ask questions, before having a go yourself in a relaxed and safe environment. All equipment is provided for your course, which will be serviced and maintained by professionals for your safety and peace of mind.
Day 3: Enjoy your first two Open Water dives
Once you've mastered the basic skills of scuba diving in a pool or confined water setting, it's time to join the dive boat for your first two Open Water dives.
Sharm el Sheikh is blessed with many easy and colourful dive sites, offering ideal conditions to learn to dive. Once underwater, you again practice your new scuba diving skills, before setting off on a short dive to enjoy the wonderful corals and marine life that call the Red Sea home.
After two dives, you head back to your hotel. The evening is yours at leisure to chat about your experiences with fellow students and explore Naama Bay.
Day 4: Complete your Open Water Course
Today, you complete another two Open Water dives, practicing your buoyancy and more skills as you become more comfortable with scuba diving. On your dives today, you go to a maximum depth of 18 metres under close and professional guidance from your instructor, and again have plenty of opportunity to enjoy the delights of Egypt’s underwater world.
Back at the dive centre, you finish the course and can proudly call yourself an Open Water Diver; your ticket to adventure!
Days 5-7: Relax, or enjoy some fun dives
We're sure you’ll have the diving bug by now and will be itching to get back in the water to explore more of the magical Red Sea and its characterful inhabitants. The next days are left free, so you can decide locally if you wish to make more dives and gain some more experience.
If you prefer to stay on land, you can relax by the pool, enjoy the sunshine, explore Naama Bay or take a local tour. The choice is yours.
Day 8: Return home
Every great adventure has to come to an end, and this afternoon it's time to say goodbye and transfer back to the airport for your flight home. The friendly Regaldive team are only a phone call away though, so you can start arranging your next diving escape the moment you arrive home!
