The Musandam Peninsula enjoys consistently warm air temperatures at sea level throughout the year, ranging from the high 20s to the high 30s °C. Coastal areas experience a notably hot and humid season between May and September, with average temperatures hovering between 32-38°C. Meanwhile, the southern coast of Salalah and Mirbat transforms during the ‘Khareef’ season, which lasts from June to early October. During this time, the region catches the northern edge of the monsoon winds, turning vast stretches of the landscape lush and green. From October to April, daytime temperatures are pleasantly warm, while nights bring a cool, refreshing contrast. Annual rainfall across most of Oman rarely exceeds 125mm, making for predominantly dry and favourable weather conditions year-round.

Water Temperature & Visibility

Prepare for truly extraordinary aquatic adventures in Oman! The waters of the Arabian Gulf, particularly around the magnificent Musandam region, are wonderfully inviting. Expect average temperatures to be a delightful 23-28°C, perfect for extended exploration! For summer months, a comfortable 3mm is a great choice, while a snug 5mm wetsuit is recommended to keep you perfectly warm during winter months.

Water visibility in the Musandam Peninsula is ranging from 10 to 30 metres. The cooler winter months (October to May) generally gift us with the clearest conditions, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in vibrant underwater landscapes and mesmerising marine life. While warmer months might bring plankton blooms, reducing visibility occasionally below 15m, this incredible phenomenon attracts abundant fish and creates thrilling opportunities to witness dynamic ecosystems and majestic larger pelagic life.
