Deep South Mini Safari plus Daily Diving

Departing from Hamata

The itinerary below is based on a Wednesday arrival to Marsa Alam airport. Flights operate from 2 May 2012 every Wednesday.

 

Day 1: Wednesday

Arrive at Marsa Alam airport, where you will be picked up and taken to the Wadi Lahami Azur Resort in Hamata. Accommodated for 3 nights in a twin room on soft all-inclusive basis.

 

Day 2 - 3: Thursday - Friday

After breakfast, transfer from the hotel to the marina for your daily diving (2 dives per day) with Aquarius Hamata dive centre. Enjoy lunch onboard the ‘Aquarius 12’ dive boat, and head back to the Marina before sunset.

 

Day 4: Saturday

Free day to enjoy the facilities at the Wadi Lahami Azur Resort. Optional diving (2 dives - not included in cost) with Aquarius Hamata dive centre. Around 5pm, transfer to M/Y Okeanos Xplorer (formerly M/Y Princess Zeinab) liveaboard for dinner and stay first night in Marina on boat.

 

Day 5: Sunday

An early departure is needed for the 180km journey which will be covered in just 3 days! Early morning diving around Sataya and a night time arrival at St. John’s.

 

Day 6: Monday

3 to 4 dives on St. John’s reef. The reef is undoubtedly one of the most popular diving spots in the area. In addition to observing white-tip and hammerhead sharks, divers often see Spanish dancers, barracuda, buffalo head parrot fish and moray eels. Night moored at either Sirnaka or Sataya Island.

 

Day 7: Tuesday

2 to 3 dives at Fury Shoal, then return to Hamata Marina in the afternoon. Transfer to the hotel and check in and enjoy dinner at the Wadi Lahami Azur Resort.

 

Day 8: Wednesday

Transfer to Marsa Alam airport for flight to the UK.

 

Please note that this trip is suitable for Advanced Divers, or those with 50+ logged dives. The dive safari can be started on either a Saturday or a Tuesday. Note: The above, is a sample itinerary and is subject to change without notice. The itinerary will depend on several factors including, but not limited to, weather, diving ability of guests & the number of other boats already present at the various dive sites. All dive sites visited are subject to weather conditions and are at the discretion of your dive guides and vessel captain.
